My Jaycee experience began with a night out meeting some people who I really didn’t know. From there it has flourished into something great. I was very active in recruiting and helping our program grow. I attended the last convention, received a presidential medallion, and made so many friends. I have been quiet as of late due to some health issues but can’t wait to get back into things.
In my personal life, I am a busy guy. I am a program director for a group home, I do crisis assessments at local ER’s and I have my own fishing tackle business. Fishing is a true passion of mine, and I am very excited about the upcoming walleye season to begin. I am married and have a son who is 6 years old now. I am very excited to pass my fishing traits onto him and watch him grow into it as I did.
Youth Sports PM Zach Johnson
I am a child of two parents that were very active Jaycees, and I have been around the organization for over twenty years. I started my own Jaycee experience in Minneapolis watching Kathleen Sprole rebuild her chapter, and eventually moved home to Brainerd and became a very active member of the organization, eventually becoming a member of JCI Staples as well. In 2015 I created the Pub ‘N Putt for charity event in Staples, and have co-chaired 2 of those events successfully. I have been privileged to serve as the IDVP for the Brainerd Jaycees and the Youth Sports PM for JCI Minnesota, and I am the proud recipient of two presidential medallions and one key to success award. The JCI organization has been and will continue to be an organization that I serve with pride and faith in the organization’s mission and purpose.
I am a graduate of the Central Lakes College Honors program, the Central Lakes College Trio program, and I will graduate with honors and receive my liberal arts degree in two days time, in addition to being named the 2015-2016 student senate executive officer of the year.

Passport to Civic Leadership PM Carissa Meyer I have been a Jaycee for almost 10 years now and I am a 7th degree Jaycee. I am excited to be your passport to Civic leadership program manager this year for jci Minnesota. The passport to Civic leadership program is an activity that any Jaycee at any time during their career as a member can participate. It is super simple to get started or to continue your degrees with a very convenient app to download right on your smartphone! Once it’s downloaded you can log-in and start checking off all the amazing things you are participating in. The glory of the electronic version is that you can now work on several different degrees all at the same time. I would love to help you learn more about the impact this activity can have for you and for your chapter. Please feel free to contact me or find me at convention!
