Awards PM RandiSu Tanem
My name is RandiSu Tanem, although some people call me Consuela. I joined the Bemidji Jaycees in July of 2005. I enjoy dual-membership in Brainerd as well. I have won a few awards, been Bemidji Chapter President 77 & 81, been honored with Lifetime Statesman #1554 and Ambassador #4235,and I am currently your Awards PM and the National Ambassador Program Liaison. I won’t lie, I originally joined for the free beer at the Water Carnival.
I work for Evergreen Youth & Family Services in Bemidji. I help at-risk and homeless youth. I like target shooting, fishing, travel, and making new friends. If you give me a toothbrush, you will have a special place in my heart.
CLC/Parade PM Jessica Kennedy
I’m Jessica Kennedy, your CLC/Parade Program Manager for 2016. I first heard of the Jaycees when I was asked to join the Austin Jaycees (JCI Austin) in 2011. I was very active in my local chapter and then started being active at the state level three years ago. I’ve held the positions of Membership VP and State Delegate in my local chapter and was the Region 8 Regional Director last year for the state. It’s great to see so many chapters participating for parade points, keep those screenshots and newsletters coming by the 25th of each month as well as any CLC submissions to PM Jessica.
March Madness Winner Pete Colarich
Congratulations to Pete Colarich for winning ED Erin’s March Madness Challenge! It came all the way down to the last game – both Pete and Amie Klouse were tied going into the final game with 77 points each, but Pete had the tie-breaker. Thank you to everyone who participated and we will see you next year!

Chapter Road Runs
Reminder – All Road runs for the first Trimester (December 16th – April 15th) are due to PM Beth by midnight on April 16th.
Make sure to check out JCIMN.org for all road run opportunities!
The Road Run challenge, Where’s Walser, is being called off. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Road Run PM Beth Walser will be unable to complete the number of road runs that she anticipated at the beginning of the year. All is well in Beth’s life, though the decision to cancel the Where’s Walser challenge was not arrived upon lightly.
The decision was made based on wanting to keep everything fair, including number of regions she would be able to make sure had a fair chance of participating, and wanting what is best for all Jaycees and Road Runners we have out there. We love bringing fun to what we do, so this intention will not be going anywhere!
Please note, the Road Run program is still alive and well! Thank you to those who are visiting other chapters to help at their events as well as learn and take home new ideas to your own chapters.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to VP Kathleen at or to PM Beth.

Ars Bellum Foundation Fundraiser Manpower Needed I have been approached by my friend Bridget, CEO of the Ars Bellum Foundation looking for manpower help on April 30th for a fundraiser in Minneapolis, at the Marriott City Center. I would like to request the Jaycees to step up and assist with this event, and possibly partner with Ars Bellum in the future on other awareness campaigns.Current sponsors of this event include the Minnesota Vikings, and the VIP reception includes photo opportunities with Carl Eller. Rachel Latuff, the reigning Miss Minnesota, will also be in attendance and available for photos, but the formal photo ops are with Carl.
As for the assistance needed for the event, it is not heavy or intensive work, but stuff that needs to be handled quickly, professionally, and respectfully. All volunteers working during the event should be in business or semi-formal attire. You do not need to be a Jaycee to volunteer, but it sure doesn’t hurt!!
From Bridget “From start to finish, I think we’re looking at a 3 pm to 10 pm volunteer time. I can split that into two shifts if people want to volunteer early or late, and everyone who volunteers will obviously get complimentary dinners from us. The chapters will receive special recognition as volunteer sponsors for us in all of our printed materials, social media and online presence, so there will be plenty of opportunities for PR. – I will give them as much exposure as I possibly can.”
If you have specific questions about this event, Bridget can be contacted at 651-317-9579 or Bridget.Cronin@arsbellumfoundation.org She can be available to speak to your chapters about her organization and the impact it has on the lives of so many servicemen and their families. Please feel free to contact her directly, and let me know if you are able to volunteer for this event. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Active Citizen Framework PM Dana Listerud Hello this is your 2016 Active Citizen Framework PM! My name is Dana Listerud and can I tell you how excited I am about this position. Personally, I have to be honest to you I never even knew that the
United Nations had goals that us (the normal person) could take part in. Well, that was until VP Kristen asked me to take this PM position this year and started researching it right away! The Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World: Here is document to an article I found on the UN Goal website. Please take a moment to read it and think about if there is something more you personally could be doing for the advancement of a better world? Some of the things you will learn from this link is how to use power strips to save electricity. Stop forest destruction, conserve water and how to stretch food! All this are easy simple ways to better our community, country and world!
